The wonderful Grafton County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The starting location is a short drive from Laconia, as you can see on the road map further down. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Gorge section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Getting your paddling muscles activated
and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This is an extremely short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The rivers
for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater paddling here in the White Mountains is a great experience.
