This stretch of Mascoma River in Grafton County is 0.33 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very     popular destination. The beautiful scenery of New Hampshire and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New Hampshire is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This is a very short section so no need to bring snacks. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Briefly about the general area: During the summertime months highs here at Mascoma River get into the 70's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. Through the winter the highs are commonly in the 20's; night lows at Mascoma River throughout the wintertime   usually descend into the-10's. A pleasant spot near Mascoma River is Great Hollow, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Whaleback.
