The starting point is not too far from Berlin, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The scenic beauty of New Hampshire and the water flowing gracefully down Mohawk River have people coming here. This section of Mohawk River in Coos County is 8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section     of whitewater. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. There are no other stretches to paddle along Mohawk River than the Colebrook stretch. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The beauty of the Green Mountains is a great plus for this river. Briefly about the general area: All through the summer highs here at Mohawk River reach the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. During   the winter highs are typically in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mohawk River.
