If you're coming from Concord it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New Hampshire tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The Newfound lake to Bristol section is the only paddling section along Newfound River River. The nature scenery of New Hampshire and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section of Newfound River River
is 1.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The wild scenery of the White Mountains is great. If you're a camper you can
camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.

the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Newfound River River dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. Newfound River River gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month.
