This section of Peabody River in New Hampshire is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV section of whitewater. The nature scenery of New Hampshire and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New Hampshire
are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Whitewater paddling here in the White Mountains is a great experience. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Route 16 to Gorham stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
