The river winds through the White Mountains and you get great scenery. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Everybody loves White Mountain National Forest, and you can have a perfect hiking adventure along the Stony Brook Trail. That right there is loads of entertaining

stuff already but it goes on, the White Mountains has it all. A trip to Moose Brook State Park revitalizes the soul, and during your trip here you'll meet some folks from Gorham for sure. This river is so wonderful. Hiking along the Imp Trail is pleasant fun; everyone close by loves skiing at Wildcat Mountain. The annual rain here at Peabody River is about average.
