The Ayers Island dam to Coolidge stretch of Pemigewasset River in New Hampshire is 1.6 miles long and has been rated as a class II(III) section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Grafton/ Belknap County and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. The average New Hampshire whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The beauty of the White Mountains is a great plus for this river. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come.
