Briefly about the general area: You truly have to like the White Mountains. There's fine hiking along the Whitehouse Trail, and The Flume is in the vicinity, and is a good spot. Good hiking is available along the   Mount Pemigewasset Trail; you need to stop at Indian Head while you're here.
