The Profile Lake through Franconia Notch stretch of Pemigewasset River is 2.9 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New Hampshire tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The river winds through the White Mountains and you get great
scenery. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The campgrounds here at Pemigewasset River are pretty good. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for
more. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The nature scenery of Grafton County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. This stretch is short so no need to bring snacks.
Briefly about the general area: You truly have to like the White Mountains. There's fine hiking along the Whitehouse Trail, and The Flume is in the vicinity, and is a good spot. Good hiking is available along the
Mount Pemigewasset Trail; you need to stop at Indian Head while you're here. High temperatures at Pemigewasset River all through the warm days of summer are in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the
highs are generally in the 20's while Pemigewasset River nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's. At this river you will always have a good time. Don't leave Pemigewasset River without first paying a visit to Georgiana Falls, and Cannon Mountain is a great
