If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New Hampshire you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. If you're coming from Berlin it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This section of Pemigewasset River is 2.9 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater
rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The scenic beauty of Grafton County and the beautiful way the water current moves down
the stream have people coming here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Profile Lake through Franconia Notch section is just one of many. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The wild scenery of the White Mountains is great.

on the Whitehouse Trail is always a great adventure, and a day on the slopes of Cannon Mountain is just what you need. Summertime at Pemigewasset River comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Pemigewasset River temperatures plunge to the 0's.
