The starting location is a reasonable drive from Laconia, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Pemigewasset River is 11.25 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New Hampshire is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Whitewater paddling here in the White Mountains is a great experience. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature
have a lot of people coming here. The Woodstock to Campton stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. The natural beauty of New Hampshire and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There's camping available near Pemigewasset
River. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here.
