The Lincoln stretch of Pemigewasset River - Hancock Br. is 6.2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. The scenic beauty of Grafton County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The White Mountains scenery is wonderful. If you've been out of state
whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. If you're coming from Laconia it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further
down. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Lincoln stretch is just one of them.
Briefly about the general area: Pemigewasset River - Hancock Br. is a good location of common rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest. The skiing
at Loon Mountain is fine, and do take a hike on the Wilderness Trail. For the duration of the long summer days at Pemigewasset River - Hancock Br. highs are generally in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are generally
in the 20's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Pemigewasset River - Hancock Br. drop into the 0's. If you want a brilliant time in the great outdoors just come on up to the White Mountains. Have a good hiking adventure along the East Pond Loop.
