The beautiful scenery of Grafton County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Lebanon, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Baker Pond to Wentworth section of Pond Brook River is 3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
There's camping available near Pond Brook River. This is a short paddling stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. If you've been out
of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Pond Brook River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Baker Pond to Wentworth section is the only one. The river winds through the White Mountains and you get great scenery. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.
