The scenic beauty of Carroll County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. This section of Rocky Branch in New Hampshire is 4.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New Hampshire tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad
you came. Lodging is available near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty
of places for that. There are no other sections to paddle along Rocky Branch than the Jericho Road and Route 302 section. The White Mountains scenery is wonderful. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
Briefly about the general area: Summertime brings highs in the 50's to Rocky Branch. Summer night lows fall down to the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 10's; night lows during the wintertime for Rocky Branch tend to be in the-10's. Going for a hike on the Mount Stanton Trail is always a splendid
adventure, and what would winter be without some skiing at Attitash Bear Peak. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the White Mountains. There are nice spots to explore along the Humphreys Ledge Trail; if you want to stop by some interesting stuff, stop by
Whites Ledge. Rocky Branch frequently gets a great deal of precipitation; November is the wettest month with most snow while July is generally the driest month. This is such a wonderful river.
