The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Route 302 at Lower Bartlett stretch is one of them. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: So much entertaining stuff to do here in the White Mountains, too wonderful to be true. There's delightful hiking along the New Path Trail. The slopes of Black Mountain are so
inviting noone can resist, and don't leave Saco River - East Branch without first going for a hike along the Number Five Ski Trail. Saco River - East Branch is a quite wet place regularly with lots of rain; November is the month that gets the most snow, and February meanwhile
is the driest month. All through the warm months at Saco River - East Branch highs are generally in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Saco River - East Branch sink into the 0's.
