The put-in location is a short drive from Laconia, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The average New Hampshire whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is a somewhat short section so no need to bring snacks. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. The natural beauty of New Hampshire
and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The beautiful White Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The Livermore stretch is the only paddling stretch along Sawyer River. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people
coming here. There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Livermore stretch of Sawyer River in New Hampshire is 3.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section.
Briefly about the general area: Just can't get enough of the White Mountains. Take a hike on the Mount Tremont Trail. At Sawyer River during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the
20's, and nighttime lows at Sawyer River during the winter generally fall into the 0's. You need to stop at Owls Cliff while you're here at Sawyer River, and Sawyer River is right by the Livermore Trail. Sawyer River gets a common amount of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; February is when it's the driest.
