The wonderful New Hampshire scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. This is the only paddling stretch along Smarts Brook. This stretch of Smarts Brook in New Hampshire is 1.5 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make     you glad you came. The beautiful White Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This stretch is short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The campgrounds here at Smarts Brook are pretty good. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New Hampshire are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the long summer days at Smarts Brook temperatures are frequently in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Smarts Brook. Smarts Brook gets a common amount of annual   rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the White Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Welch Mountain Trail. The Smarts Brook Trail offers hiking at its best, and Waterville Valley is a very popular ski area in close proximity.
