Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The scenic beauty of New Hampshire and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. The wild scenery of the White Mountains is great. This is a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. Not too many     hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The put-in is not too far from Concord, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Smith River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Route 104 to Bristol stretch is the only one. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. There's camping available near Smith River.
