The river winds through the White Mountains and you get great scenery. The beautiful scenery of Merrimack County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The Close to Concord New Hampshire section is the only paddling section along Soucook River. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There's camping available near Soucook River. A     bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New Hampshire you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Briefly about the general area: An average amount of rain falls at Soucook River; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; February is the month with the least moisture. At Soucook River during the summer highs are in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours   of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's; night lows at Soucook River all through the wintertime regularly descend into the 0's. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the White Mountains has to offer. Near Soucook River you come across the Liberty Spring Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. Really tremendous skiing awaits you at Loon Mountain, and the Osseo Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close by.
