If you're coming from Laconia it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Suncook River in Belknap County is 2.3 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The wonderful New Hampshire scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. The Suncook dam to Center Barnstead section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There aren’t any hotels
right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. A good
workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This is a somewhat short section so better bring some good walking shoes.
