The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The nature scenery of New Hampshire and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater paddling here in the White Mountains is a great experience. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk
your kayak back to put-in a few times. The put-in is not too far from Laconia, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of Swift River in New Hampshire is 2.6 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came.
Briefly about the general area: Just can't get enough of the White Mountains. Summertime highs at Swift River usually tend to be in the 70's; during summer nights
temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Swift River. Going for a hike on the Rob Brook Trail is always a glorious adventure, and you can go for a hike on the Brunel Trail. Swift River gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; all through August this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is February.
