The natural beauty of New Hampshire and the playfulness of the water beats anything. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Concord, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might
have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This section of Warner River in Merrimack County is 5.15 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV
section. Warner River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Melvin Mills to Warner stretch is the only one. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip.
Briefly about the general area: The amount of rain that falls at Warner River is close to the national average; November is the month that gets the most rain; January is when it's the driest. All through the
warm months at Warner River temperatures are regularly in the 70's while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while the cold winter nights at Warner River are in the 10's. Take some time to check out Harriman Chandler State Forest while you're here; the Wilmot Trail is a tremendous hiking trail nearby.
