This section of Wild Ammonoosuc River is 10 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of New Hampshire and the water flowing gracefully down Wild Ammonoosuc River will make you feel great. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might
end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. The river winds through the White Mountains and you get great scenery. Some people prefer whitewater
rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camp stove too. The Wildwood to Covered Bridge section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system.
Briefly about the general area: There is a wonderful hiking trail in the vicinity of Wild Ammonoosuc River called the Cobble Hill Trail; going for a hike on the Black Mountain Trail is always a nice adventure. Yeah, come up here to the White Mountains
for a nice time. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Wild Ammonoosuc River with night lows in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are mostly in the 20's with temperatures at Wild Ammonoosuc River dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. The annual
