  The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The nature scenery of Grafton County and the water flowing gracefully down Wild Ammonoosuc River attract people from near and far. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The Wildwood to Covered Bridge section of Wild Ammonoosuc River is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class
    II-III section of whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. You might be into whitewater
rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The beauty of the White Mountains is a great plus for this river. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.

Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the White Mountains. The Cobble Hill Trail is a great hiking trail in the neighborhood of Wild Ammonoosuc River, and there is a brilliant hiking trail nearby called the Black Mountain Trail.
