Covered Bridge to Route 302 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III 2 miles
This section of Wild Ammonoosuc River is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. The beautiful scenery of Grafton County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The average New Hampshire whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This is a somewhat short section so better bring some good walking shoes. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have
you coming back for more. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking
or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. The Covered Bridge to Route 302 section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system.
