The natural beauty of New Hampshire and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The starting point is not too far from Concord, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.
The wild scenery of the White Mountains is great. The campgrounds here at Winnipesaukee River are pretty good. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This is a pretty short section so better bring
some good walking shoes. Lodging is available near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This section of Winnipesaukee River is 2.1 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Upper section is one of them.
