The starting location is a short drive from Laconia, as you can see on the road map further down. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New Hampshire are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and
near. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The Route 113A to Tamworth section is the only paddling section along Wonalancet. The river winds through the White Mountains and you get great scenery. The Route 113A
to Tamworth stretch of Wonalancet is 4.25 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of New Hampshire and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
Briefly about the general area: Lunt Ledge is a pleasant site to stop at while in the neighborhood, and going for a hike on the Bickford Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Summertime highs at Wonalancet commonly tend to be in the 50's. All through
the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Wonalancet are in the-10's. Wonalancet is a reasonably wet place commonly with much rainfall; most of the snow falls throughout November while July is regularly
the driest month. Coming to this river is always a good idea. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the White Mountains has to offer. A trip to The Chinock is always fun, and nearby you find the Chocorua Brook Trail which is a great hiking trail.
