The starting point is not too far from East Stroudsburg, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The natural beauty of Warren County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Great Meadows to Delaware River section is the only paddling section along Pequest River. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep
you coming back for more. The campgrounds here at Pequest River are pretty good. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New Jersey is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater
rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. This stretch of Pequest River in Warren County is 14 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater.
Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Pequest River a wet place; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. Pequest River is in the neighborhood of Pequest Valley which is beyond doubt worth a visit. Through the months of summer, highs regularly
are in the 80's at Pequest River. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Pequest River.
