This stretch of Raritan River - South Branch in Hunterdon County is 2.6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. The wonderful Hunterdon County scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Hoffman's Bridge to Readingsburg stretch is one of them. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll
have to walk back to the start over and over. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but
if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.
