The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The starting location is a short drive from Trenton-Ewing, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of New Jersey and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This section of Wickecheoke Creek is 14 miles long
and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Lodging is available near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
This is the only paddling section along Wickecheoke Creek. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that.
Briefly about the general area: Wickecheoke Creek is a reasonably wet place generally with lots of rain; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Wickecheoke Creek during the summer are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. For the duration
of the winter highs are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Wickecheoke Creek temperatures drop to the 10's.
