If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The Eagle Nest to Cimarron stretch of Cimarron River in New Mexico is 25 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. have you coming back for more. The scenic beauty of Colfax County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

| the general area: Cimarron River is a location that is reasonably waterless mostly; during the month of October you get the most rain around here, and June on the other hand is the driest. High temperatures at Cimarron River throughout the months of summer are in the 90's, and the overnight is slightly cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. All through the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Cimarron River.
