This section of Rio de los Pinos is 8.8 miles long and it is classified as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New Mexico is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is wonderful. Since
you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. On this section you do get some distance, it's
good length for a morning trip. The nature scenery of unknown County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Osier Colorado to Campground Close to San Miguel New Mexico section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system.
