Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New Mexico is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is wonderful. Since     you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. The nature scenery of unknown County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Osier Colorado to Campground Close to San Miguel New Mexico section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Briefly about the general area: Toltec Gorge is in the vicinity of Rio de los Pinos and is definitely a magnificent location to pop by. Much rainfall falls at Rio de los Pinos; March is the wettest month with most snow while June is mostly the driest month. At Rio de los Pinos   through the summertime months highs are in the 60's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. Highs throughout the winter are ordinarily in the 30's with temperatures at Rio de los Pinos dipping down into the 0's through winter nights.
