The Close to Rio Lucio to Highway 75 stretch of Rio Embudo in New Mexico is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V(V+) section. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. All through the warm months, highs typically are in the 80's at Rio Embudo. Once the sun is down   it falls down to the 50's.
