The Cundiyo to Santa Cruz Reservoir stretch of Rio Santa Cruz in Santa Fe County is 1 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The scenic beauty of New Mexico and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. This is the only
paddling stretch along Rio Santa Cruz. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. If you're coming from Santa Fe it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see
on the road map further down. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.

At Rio Santa Cruz through the warm days of summer highs are in the 90's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs
through the winter are in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Rio Santa Cruz descend into the 10's. Near Rio Santa Cruz you locate La Caja which is a good place to pop by, and nearby you locate the Sierra Mosca Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Going for a hike on the Medio Dia Trail is always a delightful adventure.
