The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Flume stretch of Ausable River - West Branch is 0.25 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V+ section. This is a very short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is great. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here.
