The scenic beauty of Warren County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful. The Barton Mines Road to Hudson River section is the only paddling section along Balm of Gilead Brook. Since you're on this site you are probably
into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your
kayak back to put-in a few times. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch of Balm of Gilead Brook is 2.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V+ section.
