This stretch of Batavia Kill River is 5.7 miles long and it is classified as a class II-V+ section by American Whitewater. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often more challenging than in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The nature scenery of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. Bridge to Route 23-A bridge stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better
reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater paddling here in the Catskill Mountains is a great experience. If you're coming from Kingston it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.
