This section of Batavia Kill River is 5.7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-V+ section. If you're coming from Kingston it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often tougher than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
