The Greenwich to Hudson River stretch of Batten Kill River in New York is 9 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. The put-in location is a short drive from Glens Falls, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The campgrounds here at Batten Kill River are pretty good. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. This river system has a few
good paddling sections and the Greenwich to Hudson River section is one of them. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The nature scenery of New York and the sparkling
of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy.
