The scenic beauty of Washington County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. This section of Batten Kill River in Washington County is 9 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III     section. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Briefly about the general area: Gotta ski! Willard Mountain is a splendid site to do that.
