The wonderful New York scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch of Beaver River is 1 miles long     and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Eagle Section section is one of them. The put-in location is a short drive from Ogdensburg-Massena, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This is an extremely short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Briefly about the general area: You're sure to bump into some good   folks from Croghan here. The yearly rainfall here at Beaver River is about average. August is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. For the duration of the warmest time of the year highs here at Beaver River get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's, and night lows through the wintertime for Beaver River tend to be in the 0's.
