  The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Ogdensburg-Massena, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. You might have
    to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be
paddled as well. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The Taylorville Section section of Beaver River in New York is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting  
and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that.

Briefly about the general area:
Here at Beaver River you'll almost certainly meet some people from Croghan; Beaver River is close to Whetstone Gulf State Park which is a scenic site. Beaver River is a good spot of typical rainfall. The month with most of the rain is August; February meanwhile is the driest month. At Beaver River during the months of summer highs are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. During the winter highs are ordinarily in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Beaver River.
