You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Taylorville Section section is one of them. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The Taylorville Section stretch of Beaver River is 2 miles long and has been rated     as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Briefly about the general area: At Beaver River throughout the summertime highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Beaver River.
