This stretch of Beaver Kill River in New York is 32 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Sullivan/ Delaware County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so it looks     like you will be camping out. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. The wild scenery of the Catskill Mountains is great. The Turnwood to East Branch stretch is the only paddling stretch along Beaver Kill River. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: All through the warm months, highs typically are in the 80's at Beaver Kill River. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Through the winter the highs are usually in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime   at Beaver Kill River temperatures dip to the 10's. Beaver Kill River is a quite wet place usually with a large amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.
