Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The Airport Road to Great Sacandaga Lake section of Beecher Creek is 2.5 miles long and is a class II-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have
reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beautiful scenery of New York and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Beecher Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Airport Road to Great Sacandaga Lake stretch is the only one. Getting
a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over.
