The Lows Lower Dam to Tupper Lake stretch of Bog River is 7.2 miles long and it is classified as a class II-V section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. When you're paddling down a Adirondack Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. Not too many hotels nearby,
you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. This is the only paddling stretch along Bog River. The beautiful scenery
of St. Lawrence County and the water flowing gracefully down Bog River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.
