  This section of Bog River in St. Lawrence County is 7.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-V section of whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The wonderful St. Lawrence County scenery and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There's camping available near Bog River. This is the only paddling stretch
    along Bog River. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The river winds through the Adirondack Mountains and you get great scenery. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The nearby
hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Briefly about the general area:
All through the days of summer at Bog River highs are generally in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Bog River.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Bog River a wet place; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is February.
