The nature scenery of St. Lawrence County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New York you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This stretch of Boland Creek in St. Lawrence County is 2.3 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting location is a short drive from Ogdensburg-Massena, there's a road map further down
the page with more info on that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are no other sections to paddle along Boland Creek than the Davis Creek to Oswegatchie River
section. The campgrounds here at Boland Creek are pretty good. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots.
