The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Plattsburgh, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. Whitewater paddling here in the Adirondack Mountains is a great experience.     A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The average New York whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The nature scenery of Essex County and the water flowing gracefully down Boquet River have people coming here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
