If you're coming from Plattsburgh it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of New York and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The Northway to Boquet section of Boquet River in New York is 16.6 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The beauty of the Adirondack Mountains is a great plus for this
river. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New York you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't
forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The campgrounds here at Boquet River are pretty good. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camping stuff. The Northway to Boquet stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system.
