  The put-in location is a short drive from Plattsburgh, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of Essex County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay
    the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that the
rivers in this state are less manageable. The beautiful Adirondack Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The Reber to Bouquet River stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. This stretch of Boquet River - North Branch in Essex County is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater  
as a class III-IV section. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon.

Briefly about the general area:
Button Bay Camel's Hump State Park is a good spot to stretch your legs a bit; you'll almost certainly meet some people from Willsboro here. That right there is heaps of exciting things already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. Kingsland Bay State Park is a beautiful site any time of year. Throughout the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Boquet River - North Branch, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's.
