New York whitewater, Boreas River Essex / Warren county, Route 28N to Hudson River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS III-V     8 miles   This stretch of Boreas River is 8 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Essex/Warren County and the water flowing gracefully down Boreas River attract people from near and far. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Whether you're     whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. The beauty of the Adirondack Mountains is a great plus for this river. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The Route 28N to Hudson River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. On this section you do get some distance,       suitable for an afternoon trip. Briefly about the general area: Gore Mountain is a good local ski area, and you can go for a hike on the Panther Peak-Upper Works Road / Sanford Lake. You'll truly wish for more   hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Adirondack Mountains. Lots of people from Olmstedville come to Boreas River. Going for a hike on the Santanoni Peak-Upper Works Road / Sanford Lake is always a glorious adventure. The amount of rain that falls at Boreas River is close to the national average.
