The beautiful scenery of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Route 28N to Hudson River section of Boreas River in Essex/Warren County is 8 miles long and has been rated as a class III-V section by American Whitewater.     Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is great. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Briefly about the general area: From a precipitation point of view Boreas River is a quite common spot; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is February. At Boreas River throughout the summertime highs are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's.
