The wonderful Essex County scenery and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. Not too many hotels     nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The beautiful Adirondack Mountains scenery is an added bonus. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Boreas Road to Route 28N section is one of them. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip.
