The County Road 3 Bridge to Buckley Hollow Bridge section of Bowman Creek is 2.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III+ section of whitewater. The beautiful scenery of New York and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The starting location is a short drive from Binghamton, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting |
and kayaking in New York is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature
| will have you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over.
