The Boreas Road to Palmer Pond stretch of The Branch in New York is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-V section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. on the water will make you feel great. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Boreas Road to Palmer Pond section is one of them. The beauty of the Adirondack Mountains is a great plus for this river. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop
paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Jones Beach is a beach in the vicinity of The Branch that you can explore, and there is a nice hiking trail close by called the Dix Mountain-Elk Lake - Beckhorn Trail. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Adirondack Mountains will keep you coming back time and again.
