Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The beauty of the Catskill Mountains is a great plus for this river. The beautiful scenery of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come.

stretch of Bush Kill River is 5 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
