The nature scenery of Steuben County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camping stuff. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Corning, as you can see on the road map further down. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. For all     you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. There are no other sections to paddle along Canisteo River than the Canisteo to Addison section.
