The natural beauty of New York and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking     you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. There are some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The beautiful Catskill Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Catskill Creek during the long summer days are in the 70's, and the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, commonly in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 20's, and after the sun is   down through the winter temperatures at Catskill Creek fall into the 0's.
