If you're coming from Hudson it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking,     either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The wonderful Greene County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Catskill Creek make the trip here worthwhile. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable.
